Manager, Systems Engineering

We offer a leadership opportunity to a highly motivated and talented Systems Engineering Manager to manage, participate in and contribute to the development of an advanced mobile wireless communication system and our next generation (M-code) GPS receiver product with embedded anti-jam protection. The position requires previous experience in managing small engineering groups dealing with development of advanced communication and radio navigation signal processing algorithms, their evaluation by computer simulations, its realization on commercial DSP and in FPGA/ASICs, and final laboratory/field tests and evaluation. The successful candidate should have hands-on experience and training in one or more of the following areas of modern digital communication systems: signal modulations and demodulation, antenna systems, RF/Digital ASIC designs, multi-user detection algorithms, and spatial-temporal diversity techniques. Previous leadership experience in system architecture trade-offs, design and its implementation in hardware and/or software is a plus. The position requires technical schedule and cost management skills as well as excellent verbal and written skills. Working knowledge of adaptive antenna systems and their use in communication systems is highly desirable.

Qualifications: The position requires a Ph.D./MSEE. in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience with increasing responsibility in the communications industry. Communication Systems Engineer

Invent, analyze, simulate, develop and refine schemes that improve the performance of wireless communication networks. Develop advanced communication signal processing algorithms, evaluate them through computer simulations, and implement them on commercial DSPs. Opportunity to do cutting-edge innovative research in MIMO radios, cognitive radios, software defined radios (SDR), and ad hoc wireless communication, and transfer the results for use in practical products.

Qualifications: Masters in Electrical Engineering with coursework oriented towards communication systems and digital signal processing. Experience with simulation, analysis and implementation of wireless communication algorithms combined with theoretical background in the areas of signal modulation and demodulation, coding and interleaving, equalization, multi-user and multi-antenna algorithms, and space-time techniques. Expert knowledge of C/C++. Expert knowledge of MATLAB. Experience programming for DSPs and embedded processors. Working knowledge of Linux OS. Knowledge of wireless communication standards, particularly UMTS and IEEE 802.11/15/16. Interest (and preferably experience) in applying communication concepts to practical systems. Embedded Systems Engineer

Design and develop real-time wireless communications systems on embedded platforms. Develop advanced communication software and implement them on DSPs and embedded processors on single-board platforms as well as chassis-based systems. Develop device driver software for single-board and chassis-based systems. Opportunity to do cutting-edge development of MIMO radios, cognitive radios, software defined radios (SDR), and ad hoc wireless communication systems. The position includes the opportunity to contribute during all phases of research and development including specification, architecture definition, detailed system design, simulation, verification, and prototype development.

Qualifications: Bachelors (Masters preferred) in Electrical Engineering with coursework oriented towards communication systems and digital signal processing. Responsibilities will be commensurate with the level of education and experience. Hands-on experience with real-time communication system implementation on embedded platforms. Expert knowledge of C/C++. Expert knowledge of Linux OS. Experience with embedded OS and RTOS. Experience programming DSPs and embedded processors on single-board platforms as well as chassis-based systems. Knowledge of wireless communication standards, particularly UMTS and IEEE 802.11/15/16, a plus. Interest (and preferably experience) in applying communication concepts to practical systems. Communication Networks Engineer

Develop network protocols and software for high-performance wireless communications networks. Invent, analyze, simulate, develop and refine schemes that improve throughput and reliability in heterogeneous wireless communication networks. Cross-layer optimization of the physical layer (PHY), the MAC, and the networking protocols for wireless ad hoc networks. Responsibilities will include design, development, simulation, analysis, and testing of protocols and C/C++ software for high-performance wireless communications networks, in particular mobile ad hoc networks. The position includes the possibility to participate in all phases of research and development of cutting-edge wireless communications systems and ad hoc networks.

Qualifications: Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Responsibilities will be commensurate with the level of education and experience. Expert knowledge of TCP/IP protocols. Expert knowledge of mobile ad hoc networking protocols. Experience in NS2 and other network simulators. Expert knowledge of C/C++. Working knowledge of Linux OS. Experience developing multi-threaded real-time applications a plus. Experience working with real-time and embedded systems a plus. CVS version control tool experience a plus. QA (Quality Assurance)/PI (Process Improvement) Engineer

To ensure the product quality and reliability to our defense customers, we are in the process of incorporating CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) guidelines for our projects. In order to support this effort, we are looking for a highly motivated individual to define, implement and execute process improvement guidelines, specifically CMMI, for Mayflower products. This Engineer will work with project leaders from the early stages of the projects to establish disciplined practices in various areas, namely, configuration/revision control, requirements management, project planning, etc. The candidate shall possess excellent documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications: BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline. At least 5 years experience in a similar QA/PI environment. At least 5 years experience in defining and executing process improvement procedures is essential. Experience in CMMI is desired. Hands-on experience with programming in HTML and familiarity with electronics hardware and software development environment is a plus.

Junior IT Systems Administrator

Supports the configuration and deployment of systems in Mayflower for all desktop and laptop machines. Responds to user queries through an IT ticket system, answers questions via phone support and resolves hardware and software problems in a multiple platform environment. Diagnoses, identifies, and resolves end user computer problems. Implements corrective actions within established parameters or refers more complex problems to higher-level desktop support staff personnel for resolution. Generates appropriate documentation for all new software packages introduced into the environment. Ensures corrective actions are implemented and hardware and/or software are functioning properly. Generates appropriate documentation. Copies/Upgrades hard drives, configures peripheral devices, performs upgrades, replaces PC components, and installs MS Service Packs and Hotfixes.

Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Associates Degree in Computer Science with a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of related IT Desktop Support experience. Hands-on experience with laptop configurations and troubleshooting is required. Knowledge of MS Windows operating systems, especially Windows XP Professional. Familiarity with TCP/IP network configuration, WINS/Netbios, DNS, DHCP and troubleshooting, standard desktop software such as MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, IE. Familiarity and comfort with hands-on PC hardware configuration and repair. Programming experience with HTML and PHP helpful. Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and have ability to multi-task under pressure. Responsible for maintaining license compliancy and creating purchasing requisitions when needed to maintain license compliancy.
